Alex is Requiem. He's been programming for many years, lives in Australia, and is known far and wide for his ability of telling the sex of a chicken before it hatches! He is a short fellow, barely three feet tall, but what he lacks in height he more than makes up in girth.
He races speedboats, works in a crime lab and has two left nipples. When he's not busy fighting crime or saving kittens from trees with the fire department, you can find him out in his backyard drunk as Billy-Be-Dammed! He has a library card but it is for the Berlin library. Only a few folks know that he once made a ball of tinfoil over 2 inches in diameter. He can sing the entire Ring Opera cycle backwards.

All in all, he is an odd but useful fellow and we like to keep him around to fix the plumbiing and take out the trash.

This got me thinking... you know LOD, even that I know you're right with your description of Mog, I somehow always pictured him more of a Sponge-Bob like figure... not really the Bigfoot type. I wonder if your description is better suited to his appearance while mine relates to his character.
