When a unit is in a building/tower/etc., the "View Army" button appears, supposedly so you can at least see your unit info. This has never worked as long as I have been playing. Has it ever? Will Req ever fix it?

Yes, back in ancient WoL history (last year) it did work. In the olden days, one had only to click that box and the information on a unit inside a building would become visible to the right of your map screen. Oh, the lost wonders of yesteryear!!! Sad to see how our technology has degraded.

And no, Req is not likely to put the time in to fix that bug as it does not have a huge impact on our play. You should have a pretty good idea of your own units and can get basic data from the Military tables on the game screen. Unfortunately, for your opponents info, you will have to attack them and see what happens.
Cheers,
H.

I disagree Hwatta, just try putting a unit in a tower or barracks into defence mode. It cost almost 85% BP and a lot of movement to do it now. Its not as bad if the unit starts out being outside the building. But if you have them inside the building and want them in defence mode it is very costly.

Double-clicking on a unit accomplishes the same thing...

Mog what do you mean? If an army is in a building you cannot view its stats, also you do not get the options to use defence mode or disband.

It isn't a big deal if you don't need defnce mode, but if you are defending from your castle and can't move your troops out of your barracks, you can't even put them into defence mode.

As for being able to review your troop stats it is a minor bug. But it is a very major bug if you like to use defence mode when defending from attacks. Like I said if you are start from within a building it can very expensive as you have to move your troops out of the building, make the change, and then put them back into the building. I had a unit with 145% BP by the time I was able to get defence mode set up and the troops in position I was down to 25% BP. This is a major bug and needs to be corrected.

The worst part of this bug (since defense mode is usually only worthwhile when you've lost already) is that you can't see your opponent's troops' stats in their buildings. Basically, if you're seiging someone and they only have troops in buildings, it makes it impossible to tell what tech advances they have (attack/defense ones as well as castle protection).

nah, doesn't work.

You can hover with the building there or not to see how many troops are there (and also the level). But even if you double-click with view buildings off, you'll still get the barracks health and the "view army" button that doesn't work.

As such you can't see the army's defense power or it's health.
