Once the new version comes out (in 25 years), I would like to retain the orginal version (WOL). I'm sure the new version will be great but it would be great to be able to come back to the old school version.

And I want to play the version where we used to build resource buildings on natural terrain, maybe mixed with the one where we had population, when every killed soldier could have been a productive worker.. sniff.

Seems to me that Req has stated in chat that he would keep this version running, at least for a while. However, I expect that the new version (due circa 2135 AD) will blow this one out of the water anyway and we will mostly migrate to it.

When the new version is released, the world will be a much different place. Implants in our grandchildren's brains will allow it to take place without cumbersome computers on their desks. Food tablets will have long been perfected and no one will have to stop in the middle of a battle to go eat. The 400,000,006 players of War of Kings will have made Requiem the richest man on earth, allowing him to cheat death and live to 400 years old. He will almost be done with the third version by then, tentatively titled "Land of Geezers."

Cars will be a thing of the distant, unmourned past. People will have no reason to travel. There will be no work to go to anyway and video games will be much more real and lively than "real" life. Some people will never actually go outside during their entire lives, becoming pasty nerdbombs of a caliber we can only see the beginnings of at Microsoft picnics.

One more thing, Mogtreats© will be made from Soylent Green. That's people, y'know. Buy a handy tub of Mogtreats© and get a free toothpick made from a real tooth! Hooray for Requiem!
