As you know, it is possible to merge, completely or not, two armies until to form one only unit. But it is not possible the contrary, i.e. to divide 1 army into 2 smaller army. I think this is natural during a real war, to divide your troops into smaller armies to follow, for example, different targets.
Any comments ?

Braq,
I'm not sure but isn't it possible to move a small 5 pop army near a larger army and transfer maybe 5 at a time to the smaller army?

PS:
I really don't know for sure but I think we used to be able to transfer exact amounts.
I think you must mean to be able to divide a large army without having another army to initiate the transfer which I think is not possible or at least is a major programming task.

Yes, I mean to form 2 units from 1. For example, I have 100 scouts and I prefer to divide them into 2 units of 50 pop.

Use the 5 pop. trick, that's the only way.

I dont think its a good idea Braque. What if someone moves in a 200 pop close to you and then divide it into 40*5, it would block all possibillities to move your troops while he attacks with other troops...

I like the idea so long as it still uses 90% BP to divide an army.

So say you split up your 100 pop army. Now both of your smaller armies only have 10% BP. That seems fine with me (and you shouldn't run into the problem LOD's worried about).

Well I like it too but I'm not the one who has to program it. It just seems to me that it might not be easy to do but I guess anything is possible.
