Of course early in the game the best strat is scouts, arbelestiers, and squires. Later in the game it is Marksmen, Knights, and Heavy Cavalry.
I garuntee you that is the best strat! |

While this strat can be devastating, like any other strategy it can be beaten. There is no "perfect" strategy in Battles, especially when one picks one's own troops.
Another strat in battles is to "Hide like a Dog In Your Castle" which is actually relatively easy to beat if your opponent has any ranged troops whatsoever. It also is scorned as a cowardly tactic by many here.
Yet another strategy in battles might be called "Never give the other guy a Break" in which one never makes the first attack. Some players are content to jockey for the perfect position for many, many turns. Once again, this isn't a guarantee of success either.
I've seen people play battles with 20 arbalestiers and 6 ballista, with no melee troops. I've personally used a strat with 7 Heavy Cavalry and 14 Scouts, no ranged troops, but only when HC are Troop of the Day!
In campaigns, people tend to divide along the lines of aggressors and defenders, and also along the line of warriors or economists. To some here the resource management and Tech building are the best part of the game, to others it is better to attack relentlessly with less emphasis on teching up.

I don't know if any have been given names as you might hear in other games (ie 'Tower Rush').. I guess that's because there are so many things that depend on the situation that it's hard to give a set course of action and then a name..
