I'm a fan of changing the battle turn times to 7 minutes, but when i ask myself what for, i can come up with no answers.

Heres my view...most people dont take over 3 minutes unless its at the very beginning of engagement. My first turn of engagement usually runs me about 6 minutes long, depending on who i'm playing and what the other person has. now why do we even need a time limit? most players wont even force a turn(at least an honorable player) that is what makes no sense to me, why make a shorter turn time if there is no reason for it...

maybe it will get the player to hurry turns, i dont know but not too often do i see any turn time over 5 minutes

Killer

The force turn was created because in the past their were players when losing would stop playing and leave the game sit. This would force the winning player to either leave the game sit doing nothing, or quit. If they quit they lost!

So the force turn was added to prevent people from abusing the game mechanics.

At least I think thats why it was added, I didn't battle back then.

correct, i know this, but thats the thing, thats the only reason i could see why this turn time is being implemented.

The reason i understand that it is is so the battles can speed up, which doesnt make sense to me, because i dont think shorter turns will necessarily speed anything up

It isn't to speed battles up, it is to prevent players from using a technicality to win.

If you quit a battle even if your winning, you still lose. The ten minutes is so that if a person is having computer problems, or just winds up on the toilet longer than anticipated, a cheap player can't easily get the advantage.

correct, but then you have to ask yourself..why make the turns shorter, because you will have the cheapskates that will force your turn if you have problems wheter it be on the john or with your computer, you know if that person is just a little behind they will force the turn and attack real quickly to get the advantage to the battle, thats why i'm asking why make the turns shorter

i may be misinterpreting what your saying, but i dont know

I think 10 minutes is a good length.

the 10 mins is fine, and as someone else says up there somewhere ^^^ it does help out the players on a dodgy computer or those who are on a slpw connection.

Well, would you like it if you usually took over 7 mins a turn as your computer was suddenly going wonky, and then you ran out of time and then your opponent forces turn after a few extra mins?????

i know i didnt like it when i had a dodgy computer lol , i had a losing streak of about 7
