Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians as people of the book are supposed to be ruled with a special tax on them. All other nonbelievers are suppose to convert or die. So to a mainstream muslim of course most countries need to be destroyed and taken over since most countries aren't ruled by muslims. Also Muslims and Jews were taxed by Christian Kings in the Middle Age. This tax was called "testatico" and, for example, the german emperor Friedrich II (1194-1250) used this tax. | | salva01 Joined 1/04/2004 Posts : 19

You are seriously claiming that the koran makes no statement about killing non-believers, that the overall message is to avoid violence like the Bible ("turn the other cheek", Jesus sacrifice of Himself, "Father forgive them"), and that there are little terrorist enclaves in every Muslim town that actually run the place and cause all the trouble due to a lack of food, medical care, and education?
You are actually making a comparison between the entifada and the crusades? Please provide more info on this as I am interested in your sources and understandings. Thanks, H.
PS. Back on topic - I share the concerns of many of you that the forces of terror will think of this as a victory and lead to greater terror. This will likely be the case in the West Bank for some period, unfortunately. In Gaza, PM Abbas has his chance to rule a land free of Israeli presence (as if this is a good thing) and take full responsibility for whatever happens there. If he can't keep the terrorists from acting out with the security forces under his direct control, then the Israelis should not make any other concessions in any other territory (West Bank or Jerusalem). Abbas has a chance to do a small experiment and prove he is capable of being a good neighbor...or not. As always when dealing with human leaders...pray for peace...prepare for war. I just hope the prayers make the preparations superfluous this time. | |
