i have been away for a wile and i am just start up my first game back.
I know that tactics must have changed a lot since ive been gona but i wana know does anyone still use an all out frontal assult(medevil style)
i knwo i used to do this, get maybe 10 medium stacs of meele troops and support with 2 or 3 ranged(balistas) and some catapults
then surround few parts of walls and mass destroy them with troops after they've been weekend by catapults. And sure u will take casulties for one turn but once u regain BP u blitz into the castle and analate the person
same thing works for Army VS Army fights over teritory except u just blitz inbto the mids of the oponent causing confusion
cuz reading the forums seems every1 uses ranged these days, well does any1 still do this or am i gona bring it out of retirement

Particularly I'm more fond of cavalry and squires, but ranged troops are undoubtly necessary.

Melee troops are also necessary, for protecting your ranged troops and taking out your enemy's ranged when possible.

Rush attack still works, but not on castles. In a wide open area or a battle game it could work - but not a closed space.

My first attack is most of the time such a rush on somebody elses castle.
Just as soon as i can get my scouts there i start fighting.
Might be a bit risky, but it can work quite well.

Ok, there is ONE kind of rush that works :-)
The usual kind in games like these where you speed-chug-out some units and charge straight away. But if your opponent's waiting you might have just given up the game

No you don't.....even if your oppenents are ready, slaugter the rushing troops.....and they DON'T counter attack then it's fine...hehe....right Klavert? hehe ;^)
