I'm formally installing myself as head lecturer, with any and all assistant staff welcome. All are welcome to learn from these 'lectures', whether newbie or a vet who is just missing a piece of information about the game. Newbie attendance preferred to be mandatory, but head lecturer knows better than to expect it ;-) Encourage all non-perfect players you know to at least attend the classes, even if not contribute :-)
The aim - to build, more or less, a complete guide on playing the game from first principles (it is assumed you know how to move your troops, repair buildings, etc. i.e. use the interface at the least).
Lectures will be as follows - twice weekly, Mondays and Thursdays. Discussion on previous lectures perfectly acceptable - time is given only so that the 'class' have to to 'digest' the information provided.
Each 'lecture' will cover a small area of the game, and how to exploit it to it's best.
The first lecture will follow shortly! :-) |

| Posted : Tuesday, 11 February 2003 - 20:27 Well, we lose so many newbs because (supposedly) the game is so difficult. Now I'm even GIVING AWAY strategies
Add to that the fact that I request everyone to pass news of this guide on...making for a bit less of the excuse 'I didn't know it was there' |

| Posted : Wednesday, 12 February 2003 - 02:17 Yeah, im quite good at 'Civilisation 2' and 'Heroes 3' and 'Feudal' and 'Age of empires II'.. So games like this seem pretty basic to me
Just requires thinking, which I don't intend to do |

| Posted : Thursday, 13 February 2003 - 05:46 Seriously, if u guys are going to chat here in this particular thread, i dont think how will it ever help the newbies?
It will be just another long thread which is non-related to the topic. Any newbie who read the forum will just find it time wasting....
If u want to chat, pls do so at the appropriate thread.
Sorry Req. |

| Posted : Thursday, 13 February 2003 - 10:27 Ashuri, I agree with you, the forums are totally out of control...it's now just a waste of time to try and read, comments, suggestions, questions, the new blood we have in the game has wrecked the forum rules. Req, the forums need your attention.
CTD, I agree with what you're trying to accomplish...just seems that some of our newer players don't recognize that only comments pertaining to the topic should be made, not immature little jokes. Last Edited : Thursday, 13 February 2003 - 10:34 | Mal Kavian Joined 5/09/2001 Posts : 2040
| Posted : Thursday, 13 February 2003 - 11:58 Ashuri and sugarleo -- THIS isn't his thread. Newbies wont find anything except what was posted originally by CTD to state that he WAS designing these threads.
The actual thread was left (almost) jokeless by myself and other people with a sense of humour.
If the newbies want to learn something, they better start by looking at the right threads
"the new blood we have in the game has wrecked the forum rules"
Have you noticed, per chance, the amount of suggestions, and HELP that I attempt to offer? Have you noticed that I *DO* actually offer advice if I can, and not EVERYTHING I write is a joke, or spam?
Sure, I post a lot, but why the hell shouldn't I when I have free time? I post what's needed on appropriate threads, then post jokes and stuff for s**ts and giggles on any other thread that is of non-direct-importance or that needs lightening up.
Sounds like you need to take that plug out of your butt and smile for a change.
Love always, Your friend,

| Posted : Thursday, 13 February 2003 - 12:45 Sorry, Mal, but even I must say that your last posting was a bit unnecessary. Fun is fun, but need we resort to personal attacks? I admit that < I > got carried away with the fun of some of our threads, but must agree that "order" should be maintained in specific Forum areas. We that have a wicked sense of humor must realize that not everyone shares or appreciates it, and respect that difference.
Let's run back to the correct Forum (General ChitChat) and spend our free time there, shall we? <welcoming grin> I think humor is a necessary component of survival, and wish to wag my fanny at the less humor-filled, but I think I'll keep the wagging in the right arena.
Could you find that acceptable, as well? Please? Pretty please?
