I disagree with your response on A, Viva.

I think the larger size of your army increases the attack and possibly the defense number of said stack.

Higher level => Higher Max Damage

well, unless it's a skirmish...

@isolde the important thing is the health not how many troops are in the stack.
30 spears lose against 10 HC!
but if they´ve got about the same amount of health = 90 spears it´s another thing.

ballistas increase damage in higher populations.
But only ballistas.
it is only a small bonus.

Higher pop means higher total hitpoints and higher total damage. And the ballista thingy of course.

Higher level means higher battleskill, which is used in the combat calculations. If your troops have 10 more attackskill than the opponent has defenseskill, it means the damage your stack deals gets a 10% bonus. Still a cap though.

High defenseskill means less damage no?

A. the unit takes less damage in a retal because once it goes over 1000 the defenders retal percentage lowers. So a bigger unit would take less damage in return.
B.unit defends and attacks better
C.I think it might affect the retal of the attacked unit, but I am not sure.

balistas i think can beat marks because all you have to do is get out of there 8 range and use your 9 for no retail
only good thing about the marks are that they move faster

And ballistas cost more wood in the long run, not to mention speed is very much of the issue.

actualy still thats why marks are used for attacking usualy and balistas for defense so the marks have nothing on the balistas also een though they cost alot of wood they are a little more powerful with more range and can back up to get no retail
also arbs are farely good for taking out enemie armies considering there melle technique used against a range unit seems effective for the most part for i have tried it before
