You don't need demi-gods to stop an Orphath assault, you barely need anything to stop an orphath assault, stick with HC if you want scissors. Leave the poor orphaths alone!

The problem with heavies is they can (and are) countered by most players. That is if they arent using heavies themselves....

and a well placed spearman of course

The macemen wall and marks behind works against heavies, but only once,then good players will know you used that tactic and will defend against it.
