So I have completely obliterated my opponent, destroying all of their commandeers and barracks, and all they have left are four stacks of Marksmen (one pop 147 at lvl 114 and anoter lvl 47 pop 115)holed up in their way overfortified and overwalled castle (I mean, every square of the castle dang near has a wall on it...no way to knock them down easily and get to Marksmen). As I've attempted to take this castle he's slowly picked off incoming troops and has generally created quite a nuisance of himself. When I do attack him I kill 15 Marksmen maybe and recieve 3000+ damage to my attacking troop. There is still one opponent for me to battle with once I'm done with this guy. I've considered just walling him in and calling it a day, but I'm not a huge fan of that option. Any suggestions?

Comms > Towers > Catapults > Knights > etc...

...or ask Fulcrum0, he can either teleport troops or else I have no explanation to his methods of sneaking troops into opponents castle.

Decide very carefully if you have enough troops to attack the castle. You will certainly need a lot of catapults.

Remember also that you win games by experience. A million marksmen holed up in a castle can't win a game if noone comes near them. But by giving your enemy lots of free shots at you, you are probably playing into their hands. It's obviously almost the end of the game, so I suggest you attack the other player if you have time. This way you can get experience, while your man with the marks gets none as long as he stays where he is.

I didn't even know you could get to level 114, but if that's true, then I would stay well away from that army.

Alternative, if they are in a tower with walls around it, build a tower just out of range and put ballista stacks in it, put comms behind it to boost attack to 99 and open fire!

build marksmen and 36 factor of catapult. When you level the tower his marks will be standing in rubble which is bad terrain for him.

If it's a last man standing then that changes things. I would agree with Kyrion and say build up some nice ballista armies which the marks can't reach. You will probably need a lot. And definitely put some comms next to them for improved attack ability. Some cats would be useful to destroy any remaining barracks.

I would still consider removing the other player first though, as they could still cause you problems.

His barracks are gone as are all of his commandeers so he's really out of the game. There is one other opponent. I have a NAP with him and believe he's an honorable player who will respect it. I think he and I may end that and duke it out for grins.

Thanks for the ballista ideas. I had thought about that but it seemed awfully time consuming. After trying the alternative (throwing away massive numbers of troops while picking off a pidly 15 marksmen here and there) its probably the only option.

If you have the resources, it might not take as long as you think. You could build 3 barracks just out of range of his marks and upgrade them all to ballista. You'd be churning out over 40 a turn, all of which can go straight into battle.

i'd either build walls where he can't get far way, thus he'd been inprisoned, and then battle the other guy. he might just go inactive, due to the lack of fun. or the ballista ideas would work but would take a lot of time.

I would go with the tower/ballista/comms sugestion. To wall him in would take lots of stone resources away from you and probably cost you a lot of comms to get the walls near his castle (or otherwise even more stone resources to wall him in just out of reach of his marksmen). So put up towers put some big stacks of ballista's in there just out of reach of his marksmen and start taking his makrs out one by one. Keep some HC's near for the case he decides to go kamikaze on you and come out and try to take on your ballista's. With that ready... go for your last opponent and take him out... Good luck and let us hear what you eventually did and how it worked out!

Happy hunting!

the throat works too. can't fight back when they aren't getting enough oxygen. Yeah, slowly choking my opponent to death tickles my fancy.

Take out his ranges with marks/ballis and then take out his barracks with catapults (stack of 50 should only take 1-2 turns to take them out...).
