First, Let's set the background.
Excitement! First clan war. It started right away, wow this is fun, BUT..... I had to quit one of the 3 games I was in. I had just started that game, ended up in 8th place. Not a steller performance to boost point levels. (lost the clan war also)

Move forward, looking for revenge, against next clan. Ok playing 2 games and waiting for the 3rd to be used as the clan game. And wait, and wait and waaaaait.... Game never started as the other clan could not get enough players in the game. Probably did not want to quit a game they were in. They did the forfit thing, and we move to the next round.

Fast forward. Goody, 3rd round, new clan to fight. And I leave a game slot open for the clan game. and I wait, and wait, and wait.

Now I could just start another game and use up my clan slot. BUT, if I wanted to get into the clan game I would have to guit one that I was in. (NOT GONNA DO THAT AGAIN)

So whats the point of all this? I think (thats dangerous) that there should be a 4th game slot avaliable to clan members only. To be played in clan games only. That way we could wait (but I don't think there would be any more WAITING) and not give up a slot or have to guit a game to get into a clan game. Whatta think?

PS: Let me defuse the silver and gold members sharp wit. Yes, I could upgrade and gain more game slots, but that would only take care of me. I believe I would still be waiting because others still will not quit a game to get into a clan game.

the trick is to try to get your games staggered, so whilst one game you are in is about to start another is down to 2 or 3 people and the third is a way in (say, one person eliminated blah blah), then you can usually get out of a game within a week (especially if you are nice and friendly and msg the other players to vote to end or something).

Alternatively (if, for example, you only do slow games or you aren't on speaking terms with your neighbours) you could fill the third slot with an (unranked) ultra game, then you can still be in 3 games but can quit one (the ultra) if you need to be in the clan game.


However, there really should be a free slot for clan (or even ultra) games, imo.

There is an obvious solution to your plight.

Become a gold member for a bout 20 bucks (US) and you get 6 games you can be in at once.

Crovax, didn't you read the P.S.? becoming GOLD would not solve the problem of waiting for other clans to gather their players. I agree w/ Hagar, not because he is my clanmate, but because this is a valid point and one that has been ignored or just never brought up before. We, the WARLORDS, have 5 players queued for our round 3 clan game. The other team has ZERO!!! I have contacted one of the other teams players twice and have gotten NO response. What would you do and how frustrating do you think this would make you?

I think the real problem here is that there are to many 'fly-by-night' clans. They existed to be in the tournament, but once they got beat they suddenly lost all interest and pretty much have ceased to function as a clan. Offer a challenge to a clan you know is established.

Well maybe for the next clan tourney (the 2004 version) only clans who have fought at least 5 clangames past year can enter or something like that?

I thought that the BoP was an established clan. I like MdR's suggestion. Maybe take that one step farther and make it so that the clan's that enter have at least 6 active members. That way we know in advance that they have enough people to participate. I also think that a 2 week wait is long enough for a clan to get together enough people to participate in a clan game. If they can't produce 5 players in 2 weeks they are eliminated from the tournament.

Not your fault, Mike. You did the best you could to get them together. When this clan tourney is over maybe the WAR and CIA can have a match..

didn't Req say that once he 'got around to it' that clan games wouldn't count as one of your original 3 campaign slots?

In fact, I know he said it because many people got it mixed up and thought it was already implemented when clangames were.

You're right Gutter, a clan game doesn't use one of your normal 3 game slots.

Quitting a 'regular' game(or not joining one) to have a slot for a clan match...isn't required.

however, as I understand it, that hasn't been done, so until that is done, we must work around it.

bunk could not get into the clan tourney game because he had 3 games already...I don't think it is fixed yet. Once he dropped one he was able to enter the queue. H.

OK, so the fix is in the works, but has not been implemented yet. That's good news.........

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait! Ummmm I forget, which am I waiting for, it's been so long now.

Sure would be fun to be in a clan game again.
