I'll tell you why, bad intro to the game. People come on, figure out as much as they can from the scattered info available and then try the forums to get in a game.
In the next version, I hope a lot more attention is paid to the documentation and ease of getting vital information.
For instance, the first page a person sees shouldn't be "join a beginner's game, newbies", it should be links to how to play the game effectively.
