When a "new member" comes online for at least the first time, they should get a "system welcome message" that also provides them a very brief description of what to do next along with some reminder tips to "click" on the links at the top of the page especially to get help in the forums as well as the manual.

I agree. Good suggestion and shouldn't be too hard to do... Maybe we could also email them the same info (along with info on the in-game messaging system, in case they don't even thing to look at that part of the screen). I can't remember if an e-mail addy was required or not... But for those that do provide it...

yes an E-mail addy is required. It is the way the person get's their password. There is also a link back to the main page so that the new person can begin to understand the game.

good idea. i have seen that in other games too.
