Anyway how about letting clans have a special atribute or power like marks r produced cheaper or something.it culd be chosen from a list or somthing when creating a clan. now for the spanner in the works: how wuld clans which already r started choose? So, you would have to have it plain what advantage a clan might have, like for instance:
Extra accuracy for ranged weapons due to the large amounts of carrots the troops eat, improving their eyesight.
Faster scouts due to doping the horses.
Bright, annoying clown noses that throw off the aim of opposing archers and marksmen.
Messy cow throwing catapults that really make a castle look unsightly.
Heavy Cavalry with nuclear weapons take out entire sections of map, can't quite fly away quick enough to survive, though. Big deal, you're now a shadow on the wall. Neutron bombs available for keeping resource buildings.
Orphaths (in the next version) that fart so bad you wish Kyrion was dead.
Not a bad idear.

| Posted : Monday, 20 September 2004 - 15:12 Link any change that gave an advantage would unbalance the game. Even if it is only a slight advantage. Some would prove more beneficial than others and a clan wouldn't appreciate being stuck with one thing, while another clan had something that gave them a strategic or tactical advantage.
A clan is made unique by its players and the type of clan they claim to be. In other words if a clan claims to be honorable I would expect their players to hold to treaties. If a clan claims that anything goes I would not trust their players beyond line of sight. It is a clans duty to define itself and the players duty to follow that philosophy. If a palyer does not like a clans ideas then that player should go off on his own or join another clan.
However I wouldn't mind the clans colors being used to outline the players colors. That way a player can still maintain their independence while show themself as part of a clan.
An example: My chosen color is purple, the clans color is golden rod. During clan campaigns clan members are supposed to use the clans color. I would like it better if my color was outlined by the clan color. This would allow me to show who I truely am Ghenis Khan a Crusader. |

| Posted : Monday, 20 September 2004 - 15:16 linksay, now that you've posted about the unique clan idea properly in a thread that previously existed which has similar ideas and is thus more convienent for all, my suggestion would be to close all these other threads right after directing people who happen to open this thread to the correct one. its better to discuss a given subject all within the same thread.

This is a stratagy game, if the opposition has an advantige in producing marks then it would be logical to think that he would preduce a lot of marks so it would be logical to deply lots of calvery to attack his marks quiclky before they can pick off your slower infantry. Because there a weakness in all stratages so by giving someone an advantige it make it easy to predict his stratagy. So really it can be used as a disadvantage. Pehaps it would all so be wise to give a clan a weakness as well as a strength. |
