If, when one signed up for WOL, one could credit another player for telling them about it, then if a player had say, five ACTIVE recruits, he would get free membership that month (in a paying system).

It could show on your bio page perhaps, how many recruits one currently had.

I like the idea Mog, and I hate multis, but id just stick a gian't poster on the public drive at school(as virtually evryone plays online games) and watch them flock in, but then again waronline is blocked at school....I'd have to speak to the network admin....so this would cuase problems as you see Mog as it can be reallitivly easy to attract players, so the compitition would be feirce...I could also get in contact with mofunzone...and other gameing sites..
see Mog I could attract hundreds of players.

Thats why I think its a good idea but id hate to see lots of multis popping up.

Linkasy...it's seems that if you can really do this:
"...see Mog I could attract hundreds of players."
then it would definitely be in the best interest of WOL to go ahead and do so...why wait until a reward is attached before you help the site?

Perhaps the reward could be less substantial...some honorary item, like a stripe on your arm or a note in your bio....I don't know. If you can find people to play, it's in your best interest anyway since more players equals more fun! I've signed up 4 or 5 but none of them remained active, that's the key here, active players.

A unique set of colours that isn't available to all players .. such as GOLD, FLURO PINK, MANDARINE... or even a mix of colours that would destinguish that you are cool ..

Well I thought it sounded cool.

I don't like it at all, it would make it to my opinion a game like all those dull wargames where you can only see some numbers and be happy with it. Why would we even want such a big community? I like it with just 1000 players instead of 10000, here everyone knows everyone. Now you can know the enemy's tactic and how honourable he is. I think it would attrack people who would get inactive after one game.

All the "serious" players would like to play with other "serious" players only. Requiem on the other hand could probably use the added income from having a 10,000 player (or more) game. I think eventually the answer will have to be segregated playing areas, divided by experience, rank and/or fees.

I speak for virtually no vets, but I quite like easy kills when I can get them. They're rare enough to start with

As for 10k players vs 1k...I imagine the current number of players AT LEAST will still be as active as ever, so I don't see how a few more can hurt, regardless of quality

Just because you are a vet and or a "serious" player, doesn't mean you're not an easy kill. But it does mean you probably know how to act and won't be a tiresome boor.

I like the idea about unique colors, that would be cool. Maybe just for trim on certain items, like a gold castle wall!

It's just....I suppose having only 2 guys left not quit/inactive isn't very good for the competitive side of the game...but it is a nice cushion for the future long-term players to build on, while they find their feet...
