Rog Ironfist ![]() Posts : 1449 | Posted : Wednesday, 27 October 2004 - 14:55 Those that do have some sorts of strategy, would hesitate to reveal it or discus it in public, however I suggest you check out the Champions list and ask privately several of the leaders.
CTDXXX ![]() Posts : 5519 | Posted : Wednesday, 27 October 2004 - 15:01 Your first tip....a little advance planning goes a loooooong way
Mog ![]() Posts : 2663 | Posted : Thursday, 28 October 2004 - 01:17 The best thing to do is know your pieces really well in a battle. Know which is scissors, rock, paper by heart. Always try to attack with the rps advantage.
Elader ![]() Posts : 236 | Posted : Thursday, 28 October 2004 - 09:47 Flanking works great if you can pull it off, just ask what happened to Prancer on my first battle game.
| The_Seeker Posts : 128 | Posted : Thursday, 28 October 2004 - 10:52 You can also spend some time in the combat sim to get a much better feel for what troops work best against others. | |
| MarkK Posts : 352 | Posted : Thursday, 28 October 2004 - 23:22 Don't QUIT! Never, ever, ever give up. Even if you lose you'll learn something. | |
| Linner Posts : 12 | Posted : Friday, 29 October 2004 - 06:16 Why DON"T QUIT? If I see the battle is lost and i loose the same points anyway, why not save time and quit? Or this is linked with loosing points by the winner? Can smb. answer? | |
gueritol ![]() Posts : 2470 | Posted : Friday, 29 October 2004 - 07:19 Just because it is good to always finish what you started.
Mog ![]() Posts : 2663 | Posted : Friday, 29 October 2004 - 09:08 I believe quitting is punished by losing the maximum points.
Elader ![]() Posts : 236 | Posted : Friday, 29 October 2004 - 09:20 Where's the combat sim?
Rog Ironfist ![]() Posts : 1449 | Posted : Friday, 29 October 2004 - 14:49 @bloodmonger - as you can see, the tips you got here are nearly all in the online help manual and in Mog's great battle tutorial. The rest was a minor discussion on the merits of flanking and then a typical WOL arguement, this time about quitters and points gained or lost through quitting.
CTDXXX ![]() Posts : 5519 | Posted : Sunday, 31 October 2004 - 13:43 Why bother? Play practice battles instead, then you don't lose ANY points
| The_Seeker Posts : 128 | Posted : Sunday, 31 October 2004 - 19:48 Elader- The combat sim is at the bottom of the main forum page | |
| linkasy Posts : 651 | Posted : Monday, 1 November 2004 - 16:31 somtimes its good to mix the line up a bit with having rock and paper together so you can defend agianst scissors and rock and paper. | |
| linkasy Posts : 651 | Posted : Monday, 1 November 2004 - 16:37 infact don't listen to my mixed line up thing thats not as good as having a decant line up of paper vs rock | |
Mog ![]() Posts : 2663 | Posted : Monday, 1 November 2004 - 16:47 Wheeeeeeeeee! Kill everything and do it right NOW! How's that for advice?
