| Posted : Thursday, 4 November 2004 - 13:01 yeah...i did tot about tat but..who wanna play a 24 hrs game i mean its boring i usually play 12 hrs game but those tat online 5 hrs once actually gained an advantage towards me and no to name it now...i`m sleepy :p but its not really for the benefit of the player its for the server and gamemaker-teq did this so tat they can support more players instead of thousands of players keep their account online at the same time tat will slow down the server

| Posted : Thursday, 11 November 2004 - 07:10 well, the whole idea of TURNs is that you should only have to log in ONCE per TURN.
logging in more than once, should not be required, and should in theory yield absolutely no advantges at all.
however, in practice, it seems it does. and it shouldnt.
this will change...

| Posted : Thursday, 11 November 2004 - 14:09 maybe it shouldn't have advantage but i think logging in only once per turn doesn't need to have an advantage as well so maybe you can make it so that it doesn't matter if you log in once or twice a day ? |

| Posted : Thursday, 11 November 2004 - 14:59 Well Req, once isn't enough for a start, I got kicked about for that sort of play In a war, 2*speed is mandatory, sometimes even 3 or 4 might be necessary to be efficient enough about it. You could say, 'who wants to be that efficient'...but it could just as easily be 'who wants to win' |

| Posted : Thursday, 11 November 2004 - 21:50 yes I know CTD. thats what I'm saying, it IS that way now, but SHOULDNT be.
I suppose in some way, there will always be some kind of advantage to those that log in more often, even if only very minor. Just watching your enemies moves could be considered and advantage if they arent online when you move yours.
But in the end, I want to discourage actual gameplay advantages. A player who logs in once per turn should not be at such a disadvantage to a player who logs in 3 times per turn.
Faster games might be possible, but then who can log in every 6hrs regularly? |

| Posted : Friday, 12 November 2004 - 00:10 People in need of a life and job? I personally like the way this sytem is set-up. This format right now allows for a variety of playing methods. Restrictions on checking a game multiple times per turn forces everyone to play the same way. Those who sacrifice any semblance of a life to move at every tick gain only a miniscule advantage. Let those who want to micro manage their games do it. The ability to play that way keeps them playing. The ability to check your games once or twice per turn for those who have a life and/or a job can stay competive with the micro managers. And that is because they can get a full hit on the enemy troops. Where as the micro managers get a several little hits (ie 40 or 50% BP). Please leave the game as it is, Req.

| Posted : Friday, 12 November 2004 - 01:22 I can't afford to spend three or so hours at a time playing the battle games and I have avoided to start playing them because of that but also because I prefer the campaign games. I've had a "hecktic" summer and fall; I'm tired and I'm resting right now; but when I play the campaign games I admit that when I come online to take my turn I would like to spend more than 5 or 10 minutes in the game playing.
They have mentioned a "two speed" EU in the past because the new eastern European members are so undeveloped. Well I think a "two speed system" would work for WOL also (i.e. basicly keep the movement of units the way it is or rather the way you intend to make it so that there is no advantage to logging in every 3 or 4 hours but give us plenty to do in between turns and the means to do it). I really don't see how that can give an advantage to anyone if the movement of units is still restricted by turns.
