i keep getting pop-ups that ask me to download and i even found one that downloads for you! get rid of theses please i was thinking of paying up until that happened

I believe Req suggested in one topic that he may eliminate all pop-ups, etc. for those with a "gold" membership that would be renewed monthly...or something along those lines.

But, personally I use the google tool bar, and when I want to enter a game just hold control as I click on it (to allow pop-ups for that moment). Seems to stop a good deal of the nasties. In addition you should probably grab one of the free spy-ware/mal-ware detecting programs (Ad-Aware is pretty good).

Give WoL a chance, pop-ups and ads aside, it's rather addictive and a lot of fun.

I do have AOL software and the **** software isnīt able to block those dial up pop-ups.

I checked my hard disk and i had many ****ing programms there.the killed my PC twice until now.

I am no longer visiting WOL at home cause of that and i am also not able to play any more.

Req: it is really annoying.

Req has to pay for the game somehow. It's a necessary evil at this time.

Purchase Webroot "Spy Sweeper" It will allow 1 download pop up. and 1 search engine. But that is only when you 1st log on. After that you are free and clear. AND it keeps your computer up to speed.

seriusly,i`m not really pissed when it started installing those online dating and stuffs,until i actually found out alot of virus in it...i wanted to come and tell here after that,but...forgotten...lol
becoz of those stuffs,i got bombed by those trojan virus and my pc keep hanging,and alot of stuffs happened making me had to reformat my pc twice!
and lost all my saved games once..pc games...bcoz i reformat wrongly once...hehe....duh

If you're having problems with trojan horses, google "CWS shredder" it's freeware that specifically targets and destroys trojan horse viruses.

A good personal firewall helps too. Dont forget to run your anit-virus program(s) too.

I don't get any of these alleged pop up's but I do have windows sp2 wich blocks pop ups. I do get tracking cookies but they're easily delt with. And wouldn't it be better to have adds related to the gaming industry?

i always get the pop-up barrage after ive been on the site for about 20 min. endless stream until my comp crashes. kills a good thing you have going here.

it is not hard to get yourself a pop-up blocer you know?it really is not...my pop up blocer block most anything...and it knows better it lets all teh important windows(except for stats windows)open up... i like it...i also have AVG anti-virus it works REALLY well...so stop being lazy people...just get a pop up blocker and an anti virus
