| Posted : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 12:45 What Is EXP?
EXP is your army's Experience Points. Each time your army kills enemy troops or destroys something, it gains valuable experience. Experience that can eventually improve that army's skills and stamina.
How Much EXP Do I Get?
The amount of EXP your army gets during an attack depends on 2 things. The type of troop you're attacking, and the difference between the 2 army's Levels. Each troop type has an EXP rating. This is how much EXP you get for killing 1 of them. See the Characters pages for troops EXP ratings. The lower level army also get +2% extra EXP per level difference.
What Are Levels?
Your army's Level is how good they are. The higher the level, the better they perform. The only way to gain levels is to get more EXP. Basically, an army increases in Level every 200 EXP points. What Do I Get For Each Level? Each level gives your army +5% Health and Damage. Each army can go up to a MAX of Level 99 (Max Lvl is wrong, i got troops over lvl-100).
How Are Games Scored?
Each game has a Level-Range. (eg, 1-20). This means only players of levels 1-20 can join these games. Ranking within a game is primarily based on your military exploits. Who do best in combat, while also losing fewest troops in return, will rank highest.
Once a game is completed, each player gets points based on their position in the game, and the game's level-range. eg, in a 1-20 game, whoever came 1st would get 20 points, where a player who came in the middle would get about 10 points.
What Is My Level?
Your level is the Average points you scored in your past 5 games. Since it is your level that determines which games you can join, its important to try to keep your average as high as possible. Last Edited : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 12:52 | Fanatic Joined 12/01/2003 Posts : 1148
| Posted : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 13:37 k3 your answer has nothing to do with Rog's question - since he was asking about battles (not campaigns).
Rog, if you search the suggestions forum (I'm pretty sure it is the suggestions forum ) for 'chess' you should find an old post in there by me that points to a web-site that contains a formula for a chess-style ranking system. I'm fairly certain Req implemented this formula or a very similar formula (though he has obviously changed the static numbers a bit). In any case you could use it to get a general idea, then pester Req for the exact numbers if you want... | | CTDXXX Joined 19/11/2001 Posts : 5519
| Posted : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 13:42 I seem to recall Req saying he didn't publish this one for a reason, that being that it was especially nasty. Do you REALLY want it that bad Rog? | | Rog Ironfist Joined 8/04/2003 Posts : 1449
| Posted : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 15:59 The thing is ... if I'll know this formula, I can factor in shots of alcohol and thus e.g., calculate how many shots of whiskey I need to drink before I feel brave enough to think I can get some points say from Boevoipes in battle. So, His level is X, my level is Y, Shots of alcohol is Z and stupidity level of this post is by the power of N, making (Y*Z/X)N will help me assess how many points I'll WIN by beating Boevoipes or Pimp or Sage... etc.
I better stop now, but thanks all for your help. Also K3.

| Posted : Monday, 27 December 2004 - 23:20 Viva:
The maximum number of points you can win/lose isn't 9, it's 10. And here is the proof!
Battle 1 4/14/2004 6 Bonaparte Loss -9.478673
If the level difference had been greater, the number would have been closer to 10. I don't think there's any proof that it is actually limited to 10...I think Req mentioned it once...oh well, we'll never know. Unless we want to get somebody up to level 250 and then have them lose to a level 1. | | kingmen3 Joined 23/07/2001 Posts : 1804

You guys worry about a few 0.x, and I can barely amass 0.0x. well that teaches me to be a foul battler. | |
