I started thinking that it would be great if terrain like mountains especially and even possibly forest terrain provided at least one perimeter of hexes that remain invisible until a scout gets much closer So that troops can be hidden in ambush.
Also outposts range of sight should be restricted by mountains and forests.

PS:
If the view could be restricted just to the far side of a mountain or forest from a scout or outpost that would be more realistic of course.

i 2 wondered what it would be like to have that also have woodchopper's(buy the training 4 them) to chop down curtain trees all around the map? to get wood. and the same for mine's, gold, stone, and gems. make them invisible so u have to go around looking for them.

Just a thought. just give me straight, no bull! i likeit!!

This is a good and realistic idea. How did medieval troops see over mountains, anyway? They didn't. Hard to be sneaky in this game as it is, let's allow ambushes! Yay!

TR- I like this idea. Maybe the troops could have an option to choose, like going into defensive mode, that would make them 'blend into' their surroundings, making it impossible to see them on the map unless enemy units are within 3 or 4 hexes, and not seen at all from towers or outposts. Call it "ambush" mode or "camoflauge mode". Of course, there would have to be some sort of 'penalty' that would go along with it. Since it's close to being the opposite of 'defensive mode', maybe they would get attack bonuses while in that mode, but have their defensive ratings suffer for it. Just throwing it out there

Kingmen- I like your idea as well. You wouldn't even need to create a new "woodchopper" or axmen troop, just let the comms do it. If they are experts in building, they should also be experts in demolition! Maybe have them have the option to 'clear terrain', and have a resource charge for doing so based on the terrain type cleared? Boy, wouldn't that be a nice feature on the 'maze map'?

Cost to enter "hide" mode = movement points. Cost to exit = movement points. Also spotting and being spotted both minimized. This may balance the big "hello".
