TaurusRex ![]() Posts : 3595 | Posted : Monday, 31 January 2005 - 14:51 I started thinking that it would be great if terrain like mountains especially and even possibly forest terrain provided at least one perimeter of hexes that remain invisible until a scout gets much closer So that troops can be hidden in ambush.

Mog ![]() Posts : 2663 | Posted : Wednesday, 16 February 2005 - 04:17 This is a good and realistic idea. How did medieval troops see over mountains, anyway? They didn't. Hard to be sneaky in this game as it is, let's allow ambushes! Yay!
Bloody_Wasteland ![]() Posts : 175 | Posted : Wednesday, 16 February 2005 - 09:06 TR- I like this idea. Maybe the troops could have an option to choose, like going into defensive mode, that would make them 'blend into' their surroundings, making it impossible to see them on the map unless enemy units are within 3 or 4 hexes, and not seen at all from towers or outposts. Call it "ambush" mode or "camoflauge mode". Of course, there would have to be some sort of 'penalty' that would go along with it. Since it's close to being the opposite of 'defensive mode', maybe they would get attack bonuses while in that mode, but have their defensive ratings suffer for it. Just throwing it out there

Last Edited : Saturday, 19 February 2005 - 08:13 Cost to enter "hide" mode = movement points. Cost to exit = movement points. Also spotting and being spotted both minimized. This may balance the big "hello".
