| Posted : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 08:54 I know that in some places, peoples clan affiliation (symbol/abbreviation) can be seen by their names, like the 'who's online' list and such. How hard would it be to have the affilitation be attached to the name EVERYWHERE the name appears; not just certain pages, but ALL pages?
It would be nice if, when you looked at a game queue, you could see by the queue list if you were going to be going up against multiple players from the same clan...kind of head off the possibility of receiving a clan bashing before it started. The way it is now, I don't know who is in what clan until the game already starts and I start clicking on all the names on the rankings page. It would be nice to know that BEFORE I decided to join the game. I'm sure you could track down all the names by checking the clan list and find this info out yourself, but it would be tedious and time-consuming.
I apologize in advance if this suggestion has already been made before Last Edited : Thursday, 28 July 2005 - 18:49 | sugarleo Joined 4/05/2002 Posts : 2720

I do believe a limit currently exists with no more than 3 clan members in any given game...can anyone comment or confirm that this is still in effect? | | Braquemart Joined 9/09/2002 Posts : 376

| Posted : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 10:20 There used to be a two-per-clan limit on campaign games(5 per clan in 40 players) but it seems to have dissappeared. I think it may have happened when Req put in clan games, and he took off the limit to make the clan games work. Or maybe it happened when he implemented the queue system. Either way, its not here now. | | mimic Joined 14/10/2001 Posts : 979
| Posted : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 11:18 When I joined Game 14, I had not rejoined AAA. The game had already started when I rejoined. I don't know if that is a bug or not. Last Edited : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 22:46 | Mog Joined 5/02/2004 Posts : 2663
| Posted : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 20:40 In regular games clan affiliation should mean nothing. If clan members are ganging up or helping each other beyond reason you have a right to complain. | | sugarleo Joined 4/05/2002 Posts : 2720
| Posted : Sunday, 6 February 2005 - 23:20 True...it SHOULD mean nothing, but the truth is that is DOES matter.
I've seen some clan members work together(yes, even in the top ranked games, certainly the lower ranked ones)...almost to the point of a gangbang. At minimum, most clan members won't fight each other in campaigns they're in. So keeping tabs on clan members, especially the lower ranked games, would be advisable. | | gueritol Joined 7/02/2003 Posts : 2470

| Posted : Tuesday, 8 February 2005 - 00:13 It matters, entirely because your clan buddies are also normally your buddy buddies And those DO matter in ANY FFA. But you can't exactly legislate against folks knowing other folks | | Byron Joined 24/01/2003 Posts : 741

| Posted : Friday, 11 March 2005 - 15:51 i dont think theres any regulation on clans in FFAs. ive been in plenty of games where 3 or 4 players were from the same clan. a good player will see this and then the whole collection of players will make sure to wage war on the clan before they fight among themselves. Ive seen it from both sides and i dont really see any advantage.
In fact its better to join a game with 4 or 5 buddies when NOT in a clan because then no one knows they are gonna get jerked over because theres no way to tell. | | Bloody_Wasteland Joined 10/12/2004 Posts : 175

| Posted : Thursday, 28 July 2005 - 11:08 Some games would never get going if there wasn't more than two players from the same clan.
That being said, if clan members can't seperate their clan affiliation from free for all games, those players should not get into the same game together.
I think my entire clan understands that in a free for all I consider them fair game. | |
