During making my visits to the forums and playing my turns, I enjoy listening to the music on my computator. Since I've visited the site today, making my run through the whole general chit chat, checking out the notice board, and then making my way here to post this thread, I have not encountered a page that did not have one of the annoying advertisements that we've begun to see recently. On a quite a few pages, I've had both at the same time (that stupid camera one and the crazy king kong).

Req, I know banners help you keep this site alive, but don't you have some control over what banners are in the rotation? If so, these stupid banners really should be taken out.

I really like the bursnt ones that pop up and say "sorry theres no advertising here, theres some error" or whatever. BTW that was sarcasm. I think if i gotta put up with a "click to continue" and have it open a page, then that page should AT LEAST contain something I can gripe about!! But now all Im griping about is theres not advertisement and just a "were sorry were screw ups and dont have any thing to advertise" Does req get any $ when they dont have any adds to show you?

Maybe ads for something useful or stuff we'd WANT! Maybe a WOL STORE (want me to open one? I could add a WOL store to my website... i wont pimp it here but its in my bio if you want to know) U know... cool coffee cups or t-shirts or something... the artists among us could paint something and list if for sale on the WOL store and WOL could take a cut of the sale? everyone wins.

Seems like Req would want to own the store himself, and cut out the middle-man.

To those that suggested adblockers:

Sure it may work, but many people wish to view non-interruptive banners because these help Req and help keep the site free. So I think Gutter was just trying to get Req to switch (or try to get his ad server to switch) to less annoying ads. Which would probably mean that less people that visit this site regularly get ad blockers.

I think it's a good idea, though I can imagine it may be difficult to find an adequate (as in enough $ to pay for bandwidth costs etc.) ad server that doesn't have some kind of annoying ad.

I think Adds suited to our interests would be much more useful. (they might sell something) but these "get taller by taking pills" adds and the "win" supposed "free" stuff scams CANT be making req much $$. how about medieval armor and costumes and weapons like from some of those catalog companies? how about a WOL board game (I also publish, hint hint)... SOMETHING to make money for the site thats less useless to us.
