Is there some way I can set my computer to not play the sound on the new adds. I don't mind having adds on the site or even clicking one one or two but when they keep making annoying noises I refuse to ever click on that add.

So if you know how to shut them up please tell me.

I'm using Xp(Sp2) with IE and Norton's. I don't see any of the ads that you and others have refered to

neither have i.. i swapped 2 firefox 2 months ago and most of em were wiped out..u still get 1 or 2 .I never heard any sounds either.

Outside of killing the ads with some sort of ad-blocker I don't think there's an easy way to do it. You could of course just turn off or down your sound.

Also, if you go to Volume Control and Mute the "Wave" sounds you shouldn't be able to hear them. Unfortunately you also won't have sound for a lot of other games and MP3's. You can still play and hear regular audio CDs though. Volume Control is normally in the task bar (at the bottom) in Win98 and Win95. I think you can get to it through Control Panel somehow in XP.

Card- You are correct, the Control Panel IS the place to go in XP.

all add are blocked on my machine, I love add blockers, never have a add now, so good!!

I have XP(sp2) also and I have those noisy adds... The Fly buzzing isnt so annoying but that picture taking one is hell on wheels! drives me insane.

I have to turn on the Mute. I want to know whay gold members dont have an option to not have adds attack them. When I "golded up" I did it partly to stop the adds (30% of my reason for paying the $20)

But i digress... they ARE cool adds though. to bad they are gimmics. If you cant qualify for 2 credit cards then you dont get your free coupons or whatever
