Remove & Repair buildings proximity is now larger. You cannot repair/remove if an enemy army is within 5 spaces, or take-over if enemy is within 3 spaces.

thats what august 2004`s updates says...

but apparently,it seems that we are able to build at 5 hexes away and not at 4 or 3 hexes...and the repair within 5 spaces doesnt seems to work(tested it out when i put my army at 5 hexes away, but my enemy are still able to repair it.

I've also noticed different repair distances for my comms. I can't figure out what makes it change, apparently randomly. My example is: I kill barbs and then go to take over the building. Sometimes I have to have my comm right beside it to take it over, other times, I can take it over from 2-3 hexes away! The same goes for repairing it after take-over. Sometimes I have to be right beside it to repair it, other times I can repair it with my comms 2-3 hexes away. I haven't paid attention to BP%, so am not sure if that or terrain type play into the equation.

Any experienced vets that can explain this further?

I understand that it has to do with the map square's(as in the map editor) relationship to the map hexagon. If it is not diagonal and in the same square it is computed as adjacent.
