I read in another post that if a person is attacking and he is over the 1000 point max damage then the defender gets a percentage taken off of their retal. Is this true?

my example
I attack an opponent with a unit of HC that has max damage of 2000. The 1000 point cap means that my HC only do 50% damage, so the opponents forces only get 50% retal.


Please tell me that I misunderstood what they were saying. I am against a defender having unlimited retal while the attacker has the 1000 point cap, but this will allow for serious abuse of the game mechanics.

No, the opponents damage is not capped, expect 2k damage

i think he meant that a hc with 2k damage attacked an army(lets name it alan),and i think this means that alan will only deal 50% damage of his "real retal"...because his retal is capped down to 50% as the hc only deal 50% of his "real damage"
thats what i understand from the other post

and this cap thingy only happens when hc is doing the attacking not retaliating(very obvious since hc retal without being capped down)
