I think that it would both be beneficial as useful for NON players of a game, specially for newbies, to be able to "see" how particular games are being played. By having access to the Game Maps.

What do You think about it?

Things like this have been suggested multiple times, and while in theory, it would be wonderful, it would be way to easy to abuse it.
For example, a friend of one of the players in the game could spy on his friend's enemy.

Yes "Izno",
I'm sorry I didn't answer your question about this in the thread under "Questions" but I posted before I realised I didn't answer it.
As "Gfly" has said, this has been suggested at least a few times and everyone seems to like the idea but apparently there are too many difficulties to program it so that it can't be abuse. If I had answered you I probably would have said this before so I am sorry I didn't answer you.

well i understand what you're saying... and in reality the player wouldn't need to "wait" for friends to tell... he could "see" directly... then why not create the possibility of "open" games, as examples... for example... a vet or 2 playing with newbies and as i think i've read TRex saying on another post, "teaching" things onto the newer players.

I for example find a bit complicated all that about percentages, and points of damage, and stuff... i know that more advanced troops kick + quantities + the rule rock - scissor - paper...

But i've been reading posts about, when to attack, how to attack and so on... and sometimes i just get confused.
Examples would be welcome.

Instead of seeing a game AS it is played, how about the ability to see a game that WAS played. Some kind of overview of how the game flowed. For example, if some kind of snapshot were taken at the end of each turn. It wouldn't need to be done on every game, but maybe on one of the "veteran" games.

that would even be better... like snapshots of every turn.
One could "see" them again and "learn"

I like option even better perhaps

That was suggested too, but I think that all the replays being stored would take up huge amounts of bandwidth. The best thing might be to have a menu, where it shows the people watching, and either player can boot them from seeing it by clicking on their name.

Or, as was also suggested...if you are 'watching' a live game, then your ability to message any of the players involved in the game are disabled.

Other players watching, messaging, giving advice, should be incorporated into this viewed by all game. Thats what it would be all about. Battles would work best. Campaigns would be diplomatically tricky. Clan games would be outrageous! Love to see it. This would be a real contest!

What about snapshots of just one veteran game, such as BoS vs FSA? Or just a fight between two veteran players? It would at the most be 20 or so turns worth of snapshots.
Now the ultimate fix for this problem is the flash tutorial that Req is making for the new version. I believe it should be made for this version also. That way we can retain more of the few newbies that do come now.
No, allowing other players to see what you are doing would be a bad idea. The enemy would know exactly what forces you have and where they are, completely removing any chance of surprise.

How about you can only see what the player you chose "sees". You have the same limitations as the player.

Who would want to watch an unranked game, though? Or play in one?

An exhibition game of some of the best players. Tell me YOU won't follow that.

Ill follow it, but will they join it? And also there is a lot of tough programming involved.

I've done pictorials of battles before, it isn't too hard. I'll post one again soon so newer players can see one. I get permission from the other player to show it.

I like little dogs... and cats. I really like cats. Pictorials fantastic, with narration even better. Thanks so much!

A lot of code for a guy (Req) who rarely even spends an hour or two on the coding side of the game.
However, code already exists to log attacks, so perhaps, if this code logs moves or can be easily extended to, and then a 'bot' of some kind could ssimply read the logs back in and issue them as if it were the two players...?

But that is a BIG ask...
