ive only been here a couple days and from what ive read the game sounds interesting,i just havent been able to join a game. How long does it normally take for a queue to fill up?

You may want to try one of the 5-player Ultra games (listed under non-ranked). They have 2-hour turns, but they can be a good way to try out the game mechanics and get used to how things work. I had two of them start just today.
