| Posted : Monday, 21 March 2005 - 12:10 Anyone else experiencing a "lockup" effect when navigating the forum? It seems that recently as I click a header possibly a "popup" and my "popup blocker message" may be coming into confict with the end result a "lockup" that I can only unlock by disconnecting from the internet. It seems to have happened during gameplay a couple of times also when I was close to making my move.

| Posted : Monday, 21 March 2005 - 13:59 Yep, TR....I'm getting the same thing, have been for a week or two. The screen locks up until a full pop-up advertisment loads requiring closing before you have control to move about again. | | kingmen3 Joined 23/07/2001 Posts : 1804

| Posted : Tuesday, 22 March 2005 - 01:07 "K3" According to legend a gift of a "wooden horse" was left at the gates of Troy supposedly as a compliment to the military prowess of the Trojans and the naive Trojans were supposed to have taken the trophy within their walls while they spent the night celebrating their victory with wine and their women;
but while they slept, out of the belly of their prize came 50 enemy warriors who openned the gates of the city and so turned a Trojan victory to a Trojan massecre and defeat.
PS: I have no viruses or wooden horses ... thank God. I have a slow connection that I think is starting to get tangled up when too many things happen at the same time (i.e. if I happen to click a forum header at the same time a popup is occurring and my popup blocker generates a popup message my computer or rather my connection doesn't seem to be able to handle the data quickly enough).
Then I also don't have my "call waiting" disabled on my phone so that may be part of the problem also because my phone seems to ring all day long when I'm not online causing the connection to get broken when I am online.
The fact that "sugar" says he's having the same problem (i.e. the "lockups") is reason for me not to worry about it because it may even be a recent upgrade to "WinXP" or to my "ISP". I get "auto-upgrades" and I think the upgrades often need upgrades.

| Posted : Tuesday, 22 March 2005 - 05:11 PPS: Folks, some of you may recall that "insert bug" I was having where I couldn't insert a letter without erasing everthing that followed. Well after 3 years I finally saw an "error message" go through that I got while experiencing that "bug" that was associated with my keyboard and I also happened to see that I was hitting the "delete key" to cause it;
So I tried again to hit the "insert key" to correct it and sure enough after all this time hitting the "insert key" corrects the problem, but I swear that before that "error message" went through hitting the "insert key" wasn't correcting the problem;
So again I think I must have got an "auto-upgrade" to correct the "bug" after that "error message" went through and "Fanatic" was right that the "insert key" should have been the solution except that I think it had a "bug".

| Posted : Wednesday, 23 March 2005 - 14:12 TR how long have you given the system to resolve the issue. I have had similar problems since I got a firewall and pop-up blocker. At times it has taken over 3 minutes for the situation to resolve and the pop-up to nbe blocked or allowed. | | TaurusRex Joined 14/06/2002 Posts : 3595
| Posted : Wednesday, 23 March 2005 - 14:58 Yes "GK", I have a couple times recently after posting this thread found that if I wait long enough it sometimes gets untangled without disconnecting and reconnecting but it seems to me that I can reboot quicker than it takes for it to get untangled.
Something else I'm trying but not sure is a solution yet is to go into the game and do a refresh instead of trying to get a response in the forum or try to go to another website. Again I'm not sure of that, but it starts by getting no response when I click a forum header and then I try another and then try logging out ... all with no response and the result seems that I succeed to get I guess my browser all mixed up or something.
PS: Not so much recently though. A few error messages have gone through and like I say I have the "auto-upgrade" so maybe the problem is already getting resolved through my provider.
