Ok, im killing off mankiller .. he's just got his one little barracks left, but keeps on managing to kill my comms whenever Im not looking , so it's taking foreeeeeeever ..

Anyways, he comes out with some arbs, and since I had marksmen all around the place, I figure "Piece of cake!"

So I line my marksmen up, out of his arbs range, and take fire, only to get retalled!?

I took a screenshot of the attack, and a second screenshot showing the ranges, the attacker, the distance, and the problem :-)

Here's the picture of the units positions;

the range shown is sometimes wrong
so count yourself for most of the time
army inside the barracks will get an additional +1 hex of range
so that arbs should get around 6 hexes if i`m not wrong

Yes Disturbed is right
Sorry because of the special effects and the "dead earth" I didn't even see the barracks at first.
Range of arbs is 5 now plus 1 for the barracks So your marks are too close
and yes those arbs really go down too easily I think (i.e. I mean especially because there was 100 of them and they were in range for a retaliation shot).

Blah, that sucks.
Alright, thanks.

Anyways, yeh .. The arbs were very far away, and I don't think mankiller has got max weapons tech yet.. And never will since he doesn't have a castle left.. heh.

It's not a problem, not like he's going to beat me, but it's still a nuisance losing troops and not knowing why :-P

I should probably keep up with all these changes .. last time I checked was about.. uhm.. when I started playing ;-)
hehehe

I've noticed this with all of my ranged units. If you actually take and count I think you will see that you are six hexes from the barracks with your marks. That is within the arbs range while they are inside a barracks. Unfortunately or fortunately it isn't displayed on the map as being six hexes. You would find the same problem with any other ranged unit. I personally think it is nice that an opponent actually has to take time and figure out the enemies range. It should be that way with towers to. The black hex should only display the basic range not the extended range.

The white line that Mal has added is projected down from the hex space that is 5 hexes in a straight line from the arbs but the line has to be projected down from the hex space that is 6 hex spaces in a straight line from the arbs, and then it would be seen that his marks are in range of the arbs.

genghis..i suppose it would be much better to not show at all then show the basic range,that would confuse up people.

And about this bug,if i`m not wrong,it doesnt exist when your army is actually at the north east of the barracks(the reference point of locations of even the castles in a map).
It`ll show the exact range(including the +1 of the barracks).
If i`m not wrong that is.

West;

Northern point of the rax shows the actual range of the unit, whereas the Western unit doesn't.

Interesting :-)

I think you have to worry more about the Tsunami that has engulfed your castle!

Yes as Mal has shown you do get the accurate range from one position. It use to be the other way around, that the spot currently showing the actual range was the one that was wrong. Req must have goofed when he was fixing that one.
