| Posted : Thursday, 21 April 2005 - 23:58 I think it would be possible to cause a "popup" of
" www.mpogd.com/ "
to open when we enter "waronline" which would be enough of a reminder and simply require that we vote. It would also be great though if it popped open full screen to save us also that effort.

| Posted : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 00:02 MPOGD only allows one vote a day from a specific IP address. If you have a different IP address each time you log in that would work.
It is a good idea and to make it work you would just need a little information.
For instance the full link to vote is
www.mpogd.com/gotm/vote.asp
Now if we new the correct values to send to vote for waronline.net we could have it so all a player has to do is click on the link to vote. Then Mog and corflu can put it in all of their posts and all we would have to do is click the link once in a while. I mean once a day! | | Iceman Joined 17/11/2003 Posts : 119

| Posted : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 04:56 There is a limit to how much a game designer can force his players to vote at mpogd. They frown on compulsory voting. He can have a link and WE can tell each other to vote. This is a case of "sink or swim" as far as I can see. Requiem needs to have a game that can keep its player base and grow. The trick of having a great game is when players make it grow.
When I was a young Mog, I got to hang out at a pottery studio. It was a group effort with a bunch of hippies and an older master potter who looked like a reincarnation of the Great Khan. He would go around helping get studios started and on their feet. One day he came in and broke everything in the place with a big iron bar, menacing the hippies too! He took his kiln away.
The hippie brethern rebuilt what he had broken and a couple of months later, to my surprise, the older potter came back and was welcomed in. He apparently did this to all his collaborations to see if they could rebuild and stand on their own. Ours did.
Wol needs that spirit as well. We are ultimately the ones who will bring in more players and by our actions and words keep them hooked to this community.
It's got to be a fun experience and a challenging one. The fun mostly comes from interacting with all the nutjobs we have here. The challenge is that this is a hard game to play! We could definitely have many hundreds if not thousands more players if we work at it.
I hope that the doomsayers are wrong about this game. It can be a major game. Eventually it will be upgraded and Req says he will advertise that version more. Keep the faith and proselytize to your acquaintances.
In the meantime, go vote for wol at www.mpogd.com Last Edited : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 04:58 | TaurusRex Joined 14/06/2002 Posts : 3595
| Posted : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 09:38 Personally I don't think that providing a "popup" for the " www.mpogd.com/ " site when we log into the game to make it more convenient for us to vote can be constituted as forcing anyone to vote.

| Posted : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 15:41 If you look at the bar on the left, you'll see a link to mpogd. Unfotunately, you have to scroll down to read it, and it's in a tiny font. What we need is for that link to be more prominent. | | TaurusRex Joined 14/06/2002 Posts : 3595

| Posted : Friday, 22 April 2005 - 19:01 Golly gee Mog. May I give you a compliment too? PS: I don't really know for sure Mog but something about the way I used the link as an "adjective phrase" if that's the term seemed like a good reason to put quotes around it.

| Posted : Saturday, 23 April 2005 - 19:57 TR, I think Mog was refering to you using your link in a sentence without everything after it being considered part of the link.
Examples:
If I type the link the way most people do it, www.mpogd.com I would need to hit enter after typing the link in order for the rest of this sentence to be considered a seperate link.
Or If I put "" around "www.mpogd.com" I can finish the sentence without interuption.
Edit: Well the links were suppose to be created but it didn't work, thus the examples aren't effective. Last Edited : Sunday, 24 April 2005 - 17:05 | TaurusRex Joined 14/06/2002 Posts : 3595

Edit: Pfft...I give up
Edit 2: WOW! Somehow typing "I give up" made it work! Last Edited : Sunday, 24 April 2005 - 10:44|
