At this point, asking for new stuff in this version of the game is pointless. He just ain't gonna do it.
Get DOWN on your KNEES and PRAY to whatever you hold holy that Req will actually finish the "new version" (War of Kings) before you are called back to your creator! Then we can moan and whine for changes EVERY SINGLE DAY. And, oh we will, too. Maybe we'll finally get the ice machine in the lobby we so desperately need, as well as snacks and the ability to build roads.
