The rank goes up or down depending on if you lose or win. If you beat someone who's rank is the same as yours, you get 5 points.

If you beat someone much higher in rank, you win correspondingly more, up to 10 points.

If you lose to someone much lower in rank, you lose a lot of points. If you lose to a high ranked player, you may lose as little as 1 point, and that is the current minimum possible to lose.

In campaigns, your last 5 (if you have that many) games are averaged to find your campaign rank. The original 1 point you start with is averaged in as well, so after 5 games you no longer have the 1 point averaged in.

Clan games do not affect campaign rank.

In campaign games, coming in 1st gives you whatever the game is, say, 1-40, you would get 40. 2nd place gets less and so on.

If you play one game and come in first, you will be level 20. 40 points for the game divided by 2. If you finish your second game and also come in first scoring 40 points, you will now have 80 points divided by 3 and be level 26. After you have 5 campaigns, it is just the average of the last 5 scores. The plus one formula for new player averages no longer applies.

Remember, clan games and non-ranked games don't count for your level.
