by 2050, the welch will have finnally managed to regain their independence after "poisoning" all brits with their "shagged" sheeps.

The Scots will be continuing throwing logs onto other people (must be some form of welcoming or something).

Hopefully the Germans will have been overrun by Turks, and will ALL convert to Islam and listen to Scorpions covers in turkish.

Has a revenge and before sucumbing to the Turkish onslaught, the Germans will have re-crerated the Trapzon Empire (now called "Die Teutonic Trapzon Empire").

The French, after discovering that no one else wants to play rugby with them, will build a wall onto themselves and start chanting when someone knocks at the door musics from the WW2 era.

Spain will finnally understand that Olivenza IS Portuguese and in a moment of enlightment join Portugal in a new era of enlightment under Portuguese rule (is that or making all the people commit Seppuku).

The EU, after deciding that it was high time for it, will change it's name to "The New Roman Empire", and its' political elite will (thankfully) start to kill themselves to attain the Porphiry (Imperial Throne just in case u don't know). This before all the above regarding the European nations in the EU.

SA will unite with Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana and Angola and create a New Nation on the EU basis... called... The New EU
(P.S.- This was a real situation that almost happened in the 70's, though it wouldn't have been called EU ).

China will be ramsacked by a coalition of Mongols, Tibetans (they rise in revolt and help invading China), Taiwanese (dressed in Mandarin clothes), The Shaolin Monastery Republic (they decided to go independent... it's tax free u know?) and finally ALL the North Koreans Guys,that don't want to become part of the ALL Korean Republic.
P.S. - The name for this mighty new nation will be "The Republic of those N.K.G."

The U.N. will understand that it's job is forever forsaken, and after spending a lot of money (this so that i don't need to say an absurd quantity of money...), will provoke major eruptions on the Central Atlantic Rift, raise a Island, colonize it, call it Atlantis and try eliminate all those bugger "natives" that come up with it (Prince Namur forever).

But on topic, if one thinks about it, any country could become a superpower in less than 50 years if it has strong leadership. Some African country which is recieving foreign aid right now and has a corrupt leadership, could have economic and political reforms which bring it on to the world stage. Just look at Germany. In less than 30 years, after losing WWI, they came out of abject poverty and economic dispair to be one of the first nations out of the great depression, and launch another war and nearly win it, too.

The New WOLrd will be dominated in the year 2050 by the following powers:

Sageland - A nation of poet warriors. A mix of Maori and Scottish traditions, wearing lush pink kilts and facial tattoos and rhyming heroic stanzas as they march into battle.

Vivachelonia - A army of methodical, barret wearing, cigar smoking revolutionaries spreading their doctrine of mayhem.

PoDistan - the reincarnation of the ancient amazons reappearing in most mysterious circumstances everywhere around the globe and molesting the unsuspecting. Banned from the UN Defence council for giggling.

Republic of Hwatta - Fiercely patriotic bands of fighters, overcoming all their enemies with machine guns firing extreme logic, silver-plated bullets.

United Anarchy of the Harley States - The most ruthless military on the planet. They smother every other nation with smiley icons and dope infused brownies. They take no prisoners!

UN - the UN has changed a bit during the last 45 years. Now in 2050 it is presided over by Demosthenes who is just too busy discovering girls at this late stage of his life. Occasionally he emerges from his bathtub to veto this or other decision and briefly confer with his aides about new developments in the world of underwear fashion.

It's hard to say. My guess for overall power is

USA
China (those 2 might be flip flopped who knows)
Maybe Russia? I dont know much about India but if Russia can pull itself together then it might be strong again. I dont think Europe has much of a chance being powerful, the European Union doesnt look like it's going to work. Britain isnt part of the EU, but theyre an island, Islands have to import everything so I think it rules out them as a superpower. US and China will most likely be the 2 most powerful, no clue for who will be 3rd.

I think the EU will throw off their socialistic style of government in the near future and surge ahead, especially eastern europe. (hopefully)

China will suffer a meltdown at some point and political strife. Look for India to beat china out in GDP power.

I dont know much about the EU but i think its sheer waste........ like i read in the newspaper that it will be governed by the head of each EU country chance by chance..... so think of it when the whole of europe will be governed by Maltia( is that the name... i cant remember that newspaper article) which has a mere pop. of 400,000 as i suppose........ i also think india will beat china in its gdp but not by 2050 that maybe even after 30-40 years more....
