With your permission, I would like to nominate a young player for POTM this month. He is 15, he takes this game very seriously and impressed me greatly in battle. He still has much to learn but is a keen student and a nice chap as any to talk to. I suggest that this is the kind of people we want here in WOL and by way of encouragement and for once something that will be remembered in history, let us vote for Odenage for POTM.

I repeat, please vote Odenage for POTM... the future of WOL.

Vote for Odenage...
He's a lean, mean, TEEN... fighting machine

...and he took a shower last April so he's also rather clean.

Vote for the future generation of WOL... vote for Odenage.

I think a battle here or there is no match for a true campaign. When he becomes a proven campaigner I might reconsider. For now I would vote for Bogoliubovski. The last game I was in he demolished everyone he faced. If you are truly interested in voting an all around skilled player as POTM he would be my vote.

There is no doubt that Bogo is a skilled player... regardless of his eating disorders, the state of his hair, not graduating from grammar school and collecting Swiss cheese holes. Bogo is great in girth and strength no doubt!

But my point was (and you'd be surprised to know there was one! ) that maybe just for once we should encourage young new players, at least ones that show some brains as well as brawn. He is the kind of players we wish to see more of here in WOL. I think Odenage is just such a player and we should make an example out of him, by giving him POTM.

I would like to see POTM restored to awarding the best player. Maybe we need a rookie of the month award or something. Kind of like baseball. With baseball as an analogy we vote for a MVP which is usually but not always the best player for that year. The rookie of the year goes to the best first year player. But until there is a rookie of the month in WOL I think that the POTM should go to the best player. Bogo won the last high ranking game he was in beating many players(unfortunately the game ran out of time before i could engage him properly as I was basically the only other person left alive). I see in another of his games he is second and I believe from the news currently winning against the number one player so he may take that spot also.

Make him Rookie of the year now! vote Odenage!
Give Bogo honour by defeating him in a campaign... (I think I'm doomed now )

My point is the POTM has through the years gone to the best spammer, the one who helps new people. It now has probably less than a 50/50 shot to go to the best player. Lets rename it the feel good award.

PoD must be one hell of a player since she is going for her third POTM award in a year now.

I voted for Odenage. Rog has a valid point, we need to encourage new players. POTM has no set reason for being awarded. Sometimes it is for being a good player in a game, sometimes it is for being a useful member of the community. Sometimes it is for being pretty, like when I won.

I say, this once, let's vote for the new blood and not for some seasoned geezer. Bogoliubovski is truly a fantastic player, he deserves to win POTM sometime soon.

I'd also like to mention Byron again, she is the highest ranked woman player and has been doing things to make the game better behind the scenes.

There are a number of players who should at least get a few votes in any given month just to show we know they are alive. Occasionally you will see a post saying "I have never gotten a single vote, ever!" and while people asking for votes is kinda pathetic, perhaps some folks could squander their precious vote to show some appreciation for these sorts of players, too.

Speaking of voting, how about voting for waronline.net too? Thanks.

I think PoD knows we love her. Some of us with more lust than others It'd be ridiculous if anyone, even PoD would have 3 POTMs in one year. And besides,... sometimes people need a bit of peace, quiet and a spot away from the limelight to be appreciated. Let PoD be... so I can sneak up on her when no one is watching

I conquer with Finguld, Bogo is a fantastic player, possibly one of the best WOL ever had, but since we worry about him and wish him only well, we can't give him too many compliments, else his head will swell up and hurt muchi muchi

Keep voting Odenage. His spelling might require some adjustment but his heart, mind and tactics are in the right place. vote Udenage for promising lad of the year!

Like BA said the award has lost validity. I will chalk it up as another small reason why serious wargamers don't stick around.

Odenage what are your campaign rankings. I see you played in three what were your finishes?

nobodys home - Join some campaign games. Maybe some 1-40s if you finish with an average of 4th or 5th place in all of them I am sure you will become the POTM.
