gueritol ![]() Posts : 2470 | Posted : Thursday, 19 June 2003 - 11:32 Yep!, those would be pretty useless to start...
tarim ![]() Posts : 2372 | Posted : Thursday, 19 June 2003 - 12:20 Travel techs, even for the area you're invading, aren't really worth it at the start. You have few troops and they always seem to run to their doom quicker.
CTDXXX ![]() Posts : 5519 | Posted : Thursday, 19 June 2003 - 22:02 Besides, there's generally something better that early on. Like master archery
Kagemusha ![]() Posts : 89 | Posted : Thursday, 19 June 2003 - 22:34 As Vivache says after the first couple of techs it depends on your goal. What I try to concentrate on is getting three barracks with advanced and expert training as quickly as possible. This way you are producing the maximum number of troops each turn.
| Liz Van Zanen Posts : 10 | Posted : Thursday, 26 June 2003 - 16:30 Just voicing my opinion without having played a full game yet. It seems to me though, that theres 1 maybe 2 ways to go about buying tech in the beginning that is. hope someone prove me wrong | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| BloodBaron666 Posts : 375 | Posted : Thursday, 26 June 2003 - 17:35 I've always rushed to get advanced taxes, after that its up in the air. I would say getting in 1000 extra gold per turn is more important in the very begining then giving plus ten attack to the few units stacks you have in the game (unless you think you can rush someone well enough to completely eliminate them and take the castle). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tyler salyers ![]() Posts : 791 | Posted : Thursday, 26 June 2003 - 19:11 yeah tried that diddn't work usualy while your plussing your attack there getting more advanced troops anyways
gueritol ![]() Posts : 2470 | Posted : Friday, 27 June 2003 - 03:19 It all depends...If your rushed in on turn 5, you will not have your extra taxes in, your market (if you already have it) will be taken over, as well as your castle...total doom by turn 20 (and still no extra dough
Tyler salyers ![]() Posts : 791 | Posted : Friday, 27 June 2003 - 08:53 i never thought of that thankyou anyother people won't to tell me
| BloodBaron666 Posts : 375 | Posted : Saturday, 28 June 2003 - 01:08 You make a good point about being rushed, but if you survive the rush your oponent is left in a very weak position. If you have managed to research advanced taxes- and have exploited the resources around you (something your oponent has not likely done) you will be in a great position to wipe THEM out in a few turns while they are in an economic slump. With that extra 1k a turn you will be able to research upgrades AND produce troops. Last Edited : Saturday, 28 June 2003 - 01:10 The question here is IF you survive, and since you were opting for the economic route, and your neighbor was on the military route, or maybe just pouring troops, chances are your able to hold him off, but eventually you'll go down. Ahh, No. Not really...I second the podgy Mexican Remember, the only reason I'm rushing to research advanced taxes is so that I can get advanced training for all THREE of my barracks and really crank out troops (and I'm still producing troops in the meantime). I don't have to pay for them untill I need them, so if they do attack early it's easy to field a massive responce force and subsequent waves. After I have the training installed I can research the attack/def upgrades and some of the movement ones. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
