noobs and unjoe could have more units I can't see. I don't have good info on their stuff, but Psycho's numbers are accurate. So far, they've held off attacking 'cause of a couple large ballista units of mine but they look to be lining up for a rush. I'm building marks and squires as fast as I can and have a couple decent sized macemen units at my castle entrances. No cav to speak of - I figure their archers would chew 'em up anyway.

Any tips would be appreciated...but really I just wanted to bitch about the obvious and un-called-for gang-bang going on here.

seal entrace to your castle and get stone walls
then put balistas as your number 1 priorty leave them in your barracks and fire from there and keep topping them up
try to set up a good mele defense then get ranged do not attack with your melle unless you know you can win
put mace in defense that is hard for them to break through pull everything in your castle put drawbridges up to seal the put your strongest troops in them
frankly i think you probably will make it if you can get a good defense and remember not to attack unless you know you can winprobably though you could put some falch to the right of your castle maybey catch some marks off guard
thats about all i think you could do

If you can afford it, get towers as well and build one or two in your castle
You'd be amazed how useful that +20 skill bonus can be

It is safe to say that Melkor does not have the resources to build those outposts or towers from picture shown. I said none of the above would help you much except delay the inevitable. You are faced with 3 attackers with 2 of them hardly involved in any war in the last 60+ turns and thus it is they that are more likely to be building towers that you are.

I suggust you shift your focus out of your own battlefield for help. Check the campaigns news to see if there are any possible ally you could rope in at the moment. From what I see, only 7 of you are alive. 3 of them are fighting you, 2 other are at war with each other which only leave JackRuss, the weakest of the remaining 7, as a possible ally. Send a message to him to see what he can do to help with the situation. Also if the 3 that are attacking are in a sort of alliance, then you could use that as a persuading chip in convincing the other 2 who are at war to cease fighting and join you. Cause it is likely the 3 will continue to sweep pass the others once you are done.

I appreciate the irony that even a passing observer can see that fact plainly and clearly, yet those that are next in line at the chopping block fail to see it comming

He might have a stockpile of stone for all we know, or have bought the tech but not built any yet (towers )
Anyway...doesn't excuse the fact I should have mentioned the diplomacy angle...I s'pose it's so automatic to me I forget to mention it, assuming it a basic

I think genming's sugestions so far sounds the better.

You need to put emphasis on the key idea which is "the 3 of them will go after you"...you focused too much on the part "once they get done with me"...if this part happens or not that is not important at this stage...

The idea of the message to the other 2: "if you don't help me put a stop to this now, they will do this to you too!!!" is key.

The link he posts to a picture of his battle field is exactly what I suggested. I got almost nothing but bad postings saying what a bad idea it was.

Yet here is a perfect chance to give solid advice knowing what is going on. Too bad there just is not alot you can do here but castle defense.

Also get that Balistra outa that tower unless you are planning to stand your defender outside the castle so he can't be hit from the doorway.

Good advise people.

Hey, Melkor, now that a turn or so has passed, would it be too difficult to post an updated image (leaving the old one intact)? There may be new options dependent upon their movements, things that the 'vets' may see...

I hate gangbangers, what a cowards way to play.

Take gens advice it makes the most sense, towers are expensive. Build a strong archery force of ballistas and/or marks. keep them in the castle. Throw a few pop 5 scouts on suicide missions to find out what eveery body is doing, their cheap make a lot of them. make some regular meele troops, mace men or hc if you have them researched, dont ws the money if you dont. Mace are the ultimate defender with unlimited retal. I have found mace/scout armies to be the best bang for the buck. Cheap and good defenders. Use comms to support the att value of your ranged.

If help dont come, u die, understand that and kill as many as you can. you can get beat and still have a good ranking if you get kills. Concentrate on kills. Also, deminish their stacks but not necessarily kill them off, this makes for a crowded battlefield and thus advantage to the defender especially against 3 enemied, they'll trip all over each other.

Well, as far as uncalled for, I control the entire upper left corner of the board, 4 castle and tons of resources...

You were the next target in sight, as far as unjoe and n00b are concerned, I had allied within the first 10 turns with joe, joe has something with n00b...

I have been fighting everywhere, and I believe you attacked my men first a long while ago, I had to pull all forces back and eliminated katana from the game, no one elses help, just me versus him... Meanwhile you took advantage of this lull to encroach, take over a few of my resources and expect me to do nothing. My going after you was just the next logical step...

As far as the current (?) attack, it is my troops being pounded by your defenses while everyone else is sitting around your castle... n00b, unjoe, and bobabobbob are all there and I guess were going to attack you, but not one o them has died in the last 10 turns, so, I am pulling back my forces, making a big bowl of popcorn, and my men will be sitting back and munching on it while everyone else decides on what they are gonna do.
