from there it depends on my economy and who is or isn't attacking me.

I go taxes, commerce, market wares, resource generation.From there it just depends on if I'm getting pummled by an enemy by that time or not.

Resource generation is a waste of gold and resources. At that early stage of the game I would spend the resources on something much more constructive and useful. I might research it later on in the game but that is highly unlikely to happen.

Agreed. Resource generation seems pretty useless. Unless maybe your trapped in a castle and don't expect to have any resources... I'm not sure why it's in there.
