I am currently getting my butt whooped in Game 63 by Corflu with a great early rush. What is the best way to defend against an early rush?

you´ve got th advantage of a +5 on defend in your castle, you´ve got the advantage that you can deploy your troops pretty near to the battle field so you always got the advantage of about 2 turns more to produce troops (your opponent needs about 2 turns to reach your castle)
use your advantages and you won´t lose.

a only way to defend early rush is play diplomatically, offer ppl who you meet a nap for a certain turns.
early rush is not good for both players mostly, even you can defend, but your economy will be ruin which reduce your win chance of the hole game.
sometimes ppl don't want have nap for a certain length with you, then you should keep an eye on them...

i disagree hll i think the first person u see is the first person u focus on, and if some1 rushes u early they probly only have scouts or soemting and u can play off the type with spearmen and u can get advanced meele and deploy before they can so u have a good chance of winning

I do agree with hll in one thing.
If you stablish contact with any of your identified neighborgs, chances are slimer that there will be conflict if you compare it against not contacted neighborgs!
(Hope it was clear )

Tyler, How can you "Early" rush When it is the end of the game?

One game I am in, I was early rushed and so far I have been able to fend them off. But it has really screwed my economy up. I'm still not sure I will be able to recover.
But I am going to try. :-}

Gamer - it's also easy for the other guy to switch types
So he waits a turn or two...

for early rush defenses, i like to call the pentagon and secure a few baby nukes... then i send out the troops to swim in the holes once the rain fills em up...

saves on update costs 'cause the radiation does all kinds o fun things to em, talk about special troop abilities

BigAmigo might like to give everyone his thoughts from his game 17 experiences since he's being taken to task by Genming on turn #5.

it's gotta be worth posting at some stage surely

The only real 'factor' there is in an early rush, is to simply get troops together and charge as soon as you can
But I'm no expert, having only tried anything like it once

i kind of ment that you would of had to much money at the end of the game anyway so the rush won't hurt you but help you

An early rush is supposed to catch someone off guard, catch him with his soft troops (archers/comms) undefended, and to swiftly swipe his resources.

THE way to defend against it is to stay *on* guard, keep your troops moving around in the beginning and keep putting out new troops so you'll cover the area in your vicinity and see enemy troops coming, and once they're in sight keep a tab on them.

Another thing I like to do is get a varied starting troop selection, so if my opponent attacks with hordes of scouts (a favorite of early rushers), I can pump out at least spearmen and scouts at my castle.

Archers are mostly useless as you'll lose a lot of troops (as will the enemy) and you can't keep em defended as of yet, unless you pull back to your castle, where you get all kinds of defense bonuses, and have walls, and you know how to keep the enemy outside (where all the resources are as well......)

In short:
Keep claiming resources, keep pumping out troops to counter his, keep your forces grouped (whereas he always has half of his rushing onto the scene), take one one or two stacks at a time (retaliation!). His strong point in rushing is keeping you away from your own resources while having his own freely available.

And castle nabbing, of course (or smashing for full conquest after )
