actually, I dont think wyngerns are too effective, Tarim. Shaevars take out half a stack in one hit, and when they attack any higher level demon troops its suicide. Sure they can fly, but thats all they're good for.

Knights are somehow pretty useless in battle. They look nice on paper, but aren't worth the points as they're usually shot to bits by a medi player.

They seem vital to medi vs demon, yet they used to be shot to bits by boulder demons back then

I'll only say this... without knowing if your adversary is going to use the boulder method or not, (no matter what whoever thought of it had something going upstairs for sure because i think its a very universal strategy) would a good 'general' take the risk of not being prepared for it and therefore not doing the same? What I'm sayin is this... if I assume someone else is going to use the boulder method on me, and why shouldn't they because if played well it can win most any battle, why wouldn't do the same to be prepared?

The only thing, its very close to taking out the fun for the 'ever changing' battles.

I'm sorry to say Exxo that the post is too late, boulders have already been changed, and now are nearly worthless in battle. However, I will comment on some of the things you mentioned.

"no matter what whoever thought of it had something going upstairs for sure because i think its a very universal strategy" -
I have to disagree, how hard is it to find a powerful unit and create a whole bunch of them? Almost every other power unit has some counter, (HC-rocks, Marks-almost any mele unit, Demi- mass attacks) but boulders do not. Also, they are too cheep for what they can (could) acomplish, making it easy to build an army around them. It doesn't take creative thinking to pick a powerful unit and make a bunch of them, its the common responce (once you realize all the strenghts of boulders). It works well universaly because the unit is powerful, not because of any skillful set up choices or tactics.

"would a good 'general' take the risk of not being prepared for it and therefore not doing the same?"-
However powerful boulders were, they were not unbeatable, and taking the "if you can't beat um, join um" attitued is in my opinion a cop out. I have a hard time agaisnt alot of HC, but I will NEVER play an HC army or a counter army. I make my set up work because 1: it can, and has, worked and 2: its a whole lot more challenging (enjoyable) then just 'joining the crowd'. I can't condone any strat, or unit, that forces players (or makes them feel forced) to stifle their individuality in order to win.

Despite everything I said above I hadn't gotten to that point yet. I DO dislike HC in this way because it forces me to use very 'brutish' tactics to counter the HC's speed and power (thats not to say I haven't had very close and enjoyable games agaisnt them, its just that they almost always turn into one big bloodbath). Boulders required alot of finess to beat, and I enjoyed the challenge. It involved constant movement/manuvering to weaken them for the eventual mele swarm (and then hoping that you took out enough of them to aviod destruction).

I understand what Rog meant by war is unfair and all and certain units should be more powerful than others....
However...however,that was real-life you were talking about, and life was never meant to be fair.
I believe that games should be as fair as possible for the sake of fun...
I would hate having WarOnline being dubbed as BoulderOnline if this thing is not fixed.
