Intresting. In most Double Elims though you dont play a 1 loss, 1 loss final game. The One Loss, undefeated game is considered the championship.

I've seen them both ways, it would be up to the teams if one or two at the end... but decided now, not once you are the champ and think two is better... ;-)

hehe, so I guess that opens to the debate on whether we want DB E and if so, 1 or 2 at the end.

Double elimination wasn't the original agreement.

I think it's kinda late for us to decide we NOW make the tourney a double elimination(could you imagine if ALL teams continued to play how long that would take?!).

However, I think it should take place ONLY with the agreement of the tourney champ. Also the two losing clans of the 'final four' could agree to have a match to decide 3rd and 4th if they desired.

Oddly, this will not effect FSA, other then having us face one more opponent at the very end.

So I personally don't mind this. And it gives the other strong clans like AAA, BOS, IJA and such a chance to make up for a previous loss.

Yeah, it'd be good for the FSA to face that one last challenge at the end..

I mean, the humiliation of losing to us would need to be made up for

Fulcrum0, no problem with however you arrange things, and since Crovax has assured us that FSA will be the champ AND they're willing...then set it up as you see fit. However...if AAA secures a victory over BoP, perhaps the prediction may be altered.

I really do like this idea. Especially as it should provide a ranking in the end. However a final between Winners Champ and Loosers Champ goes too far, IMO.

Aye.. I think if the winners have already WON, then well.. it's pointless to have a competition against the best of the worst...

It's pretty obvious who's gonna win that.

I would think the loosing teams could still continue their own tournament if they so desired. I would be interested in seeing how they did against each other. I would also be infavor of a loosers bracket within the "elite 8".

I can set up the chart or whatever once we all come to an agreement ;-)

I agree with Michyl, let the losers have a play off of some sort if they wish. The Clan that wins the first bracket IS the champion as far as I'm concerned.

Double eliminations are painful eliminations. Think about it. 80)

I like the Double Elimination idea, and I don't think it's going too far to have the winner of the first bracket play against the winner of the second bracket. The way I see it, the winner of the second bracket will end up being one of the highest-slated teams in CLAN WAR 2004. It's like having a special set of championship matches.

Plus it ensures that whoever wins the championship position really deserves to be up there -- in case the outcome of the final game in the first bracket is affected by luck (maybe three from one clan start around a lone guy from the other clan).

That is a typical and fair bracket. However in the finals of these the winner of the One Loss bracket always needs to beat the winner of the undefeated twice. The rule is simple, takes two losses to be out.

The only drawback of double elimination is the time involved. But I do not see where we have a time limit.

One other thought is instead of double elimination, simply have a second bracket for the 8 teams that do not win the first round. So there is the "top" bracket" and then a second bracket. That may appeal to the people not advancing in the first round.

Personally I think Double elimination is the most fair and the point is to play games anyway. So the more the merrier to me.
