You guys are all great! I really enjoy WoL for the games AND for the thought provoking discussions of world events with people from around the world. There is no need to stress over it. If you don't enjoy it (Sort of like me with Demon battles), there is no requirement to participate. None. If you are having fun, then join the party.

H, with the way our borders are currently defended the chance of an attack of the nature you drescribed is much greater than it should be almost 4 years after 9/11. Why is that, and why is it Osama, the real mastermind of 9/11 hasn't been taken care of? Not one of you right-wingers has adressed those issues. You seem belive the current military campaign will stop a handful of determined terrorists when we can't stop the illegal aliens, drugs, and anything else someone wants to get past our undefended borders. Are you so sure they all went back to Afganistan and Iraq to fight our troops? I can't, when living 150 miles from Mexico and I doubt anyone can be.

Does anyone really think we would be fighting terrorists now if we hadn't had an attack on our homeland. No matter how many people were being killed by brutal regimes all over the world if it wasn't happening here we wouldn't be there.

BA, you seem to have gotten only half my point, so I'll draw you a picture of the other half...the resources we have used in Iraq would have been better used in Afganistan and in defending our borders. Wouldn't it be better to prevent another attack by keeping the terrorists out and rather than reacting after it comes?

Being patriotic is questioning what the people in power are doing to in this nation just as much as taking up arms to defend it. The people in Washington work for us, and it is not our right , but our duty, to keep their feet to the fire.

NO, I dont think so. I think it was better to take the fight to them. My analogy was, is it better to set and wait for your enemy to come to you and then try to prevent them from killing you. I think it is better to go get them where they live. Now we are in Iraq and Afghanistan, the fight is on their door.

I think the automotive industry is "dragging its feet" with the electric car. Too many jobs will be lost I think.

A battery powered car with enough batteries and generators or alternators can be almost like a perpetual motion machine except of course batteries and parts eventually must be replaced but batteries are being improved all the time.
The article says that a million of these cars could provide the electricity of 20 power plants.

TR, as everyone knows the auto and oil industry are hand in hand. I think hi-speed rail is the best long term option along with fuel cells, but the feet are dragging there too. The real problem is that there is no long term thinking and planning by industry or goverment (or not enough of it) for the challenges that we all know are coming. The attitude is that our children will be able to deal with it.

This looks like a good place to vent so I'll help keep it active.

okay i have a new subject for you Big A and all the noobs and several of the regulars to its been touched upon before but nothing ever gets settled out of it i want this settled and signed and delivered and i want players to come back who have left because of this Shi* so screw the country and the middle east im talking about our own little community of WOL here and whats happening with in it

as far as im concerned the only time it is acceptable is in a clan game when equal players of the same clan are playing one another is that wrong? I dont think so. but recently i was told if someone is in a campaign and they get 5 castles then 2 players are left besides him they have to join forces to get him! if that player is good enough to get 5 castles those other 2 need to join together with him and vote to end the game before he murders them but hey thats what i would do and hope for the best out come possible. so let me hear some opions here people. cause this is really sticking me up my butt the wrong way

Well..there is this player who took advantage of PoD while she was out on FMLA. He may very well end up in first place because of this. My kingdom feels compelled to get involved.

thats isnt even what i was talking about but yes thats another ugly matter in its self there. and i call that a player with NO HONOR!!! i have never never in all my time here on wol heard of a grievance nap not being honored by any and all players yet this player did not honor it and went in and took over princess's stuff
I put him lower than the lowests on wol list hes soooo low and scumby he makes GANG BANGING almost look good

Regarding the incident which harley and Juxtaposer mentioned with PoD; I personally talked to this person who admits to ignore the requests made to him by several people regarding what happened to PoD. He doesn't care less and this is one instance where there's no debate about right or wrong. If there ever was a case of black-listing someone, this is it!

Well Harley I think you need to be more specific
because I was in Skirm 62 happily making war with the second toughest guy in the game when a certain delightful character decided to interfere initially by capturing my opponents quarry. Neither one of us were in any condition to face a fresh third party with even macemen and ballista so I just got in the guys way while my opponent and another player drove him off and then the other player finished him off by himself.

No sooner that was over, then still another player tried to swoop in on my former opponent who was still in no condition to tangle with a fresh opponent So we helped him also drive that guy off with me again just getting in the way and again the other guy finished that second intruder off who BTW also initiated hostilities by capturing that same quarry.

It seems that honor like beauty is in the eye of the beholder because in my opinion it isn't very honorable to prey on the weakest player in the game who has gotten that way because of defending himself for several turns.
It reminds me of that fat bottom feeding catfish they caught in Thailand.

My last game, I was being gangbanged ever since my first war. I put out a call for help, but no one was able to help, and I had to fend the scaliwags off myself. The payout in experience can be satisfying, but I must admit, slowly dying away while fighting two opponents isn't too much fun. I did take the castle of one of the original gangbangers, and thought I could settle in for a 1 on 1, when another player started gathering troops at the edge of my lands. I know some people say 2 castles vs 2 castles is perfectly fine, but my troops were so worn out, he was obviously just taking advantadge of me. Twas a gross and despicable thing. I sent him messages everyday to get off my lands, and never got a response. The poor fella didn't even have the balls to speak to me. I'm sure people like this know what they're doing is wrong, they just do it anyway and then don't have the guts to own up to it.

Ahhhhh MAPS, Salutations!!! What is of this reading, there for comes this!?!? IS there it for a bird answer. Imploring fantastic no more I promise, never felt HA a never born muskrat! (forgivings pretty of is from homers, can not create speech gone it, is it wrong?)
