It's not nice when a very controversial thread is started and the author get's in one last comment involving something I've said (i.e. especially construed to misconstrue that which I've said) and then he closes the thread.
I have explained that I believe there is much symbolism in the Bible and on the topic of Christians being allowed to resort to violence on certain occassions the use of the word *DEVIL* in the Bible has become synonomous with PEOPLE who do very EVIL things (i.e. even though Christians are attributing a description of an underworld character on some evil person or people that many folks consider to be a fantasy character).

If it's said that Adolf Hitler was the embodiment of the devil, are we speaking of the devil or of an evil man? Adolf Hitler did exist so logically we are speaking of a real man so evil that people have considered him to be possessed by the devil and disciples of Christ have taught Christians that they are allowed to resist the devil with all their might So it comes down to a matter of semantics. Are we going to allow a big evil man to forcefully rape a woman simply because no one has said he is the *DEVIL* or are we going to do something to stop him?
IMO most Christians who are able to help wouldn't have to think twice about it but I think a person who might try to decide if he has a right to intervene might hesitate to help.

Sorry, you are welcome to open another with the same topic, just call it "continued"...

I didn't mean to shut you down, just got what I thought was a good reply and was losing interest.

Anyone can say, "you" to their hearts content because it is singular or plural and can always be excused as a general address, but the fact remains that when used in direct dialogue between two people who have been communicating, the word "you" when used together with a derogatory comment can immediately cause the other person to feel the necessity to make a defensive statement which can be quite involved and cumbersome to a conversation;

and I am acquainted with some folks who seem to relish in the confusion caused by the singular or plural use of the word "you" and seem to try to make use of that confusion all of the time to gain unearned points in a debate.
Anyway I believe that common courtesy dictates that when two people are conversing or even debating and the word "you" is used referring to something derogatory, unless the user is trying to gain unearned debate points, he should make a distinction as to whom he means by "you".

I couldn't decide whether to put this post as a "PS:" to my last post up in "suggestions" or here but here seemed more appropriate.
